WHERE AND HOW TO VOTE
Since we first reported precinct locations last month, there have been changes — and
there could be more up until Election Day on Nov. 5, when Metro seeks approval
for a bond package to support its next level of planning, the state seeks approval
on 10 constitutional amendments, and Bellaire selects a mayor and three city
While voters can now cast their ballots at any location — you’re no longer required
to punch selections at an assigned precinct — visiting HarrisVotes.com, the county
election catch-all, would be a good idea before heading out.
By entering your name and address or a ZIP code, you can determine the most current
nearby voting locations and download a sample ballot to take for reference.
Although early voting ended Oct. 27, familiar early voting sites will be open on
Election Day, reports Bellaire City Secretary Tracy Dutton. Locations convenient to
West University and Bellaire include Houston Community College, 5601 West Loop
South (be mindful, though, of feeder road construction); Bayland Community Center,
6400 Bissonnet St.; Fiesta Mart, 8130 Kirby Drive near NRG Stadium; Harris County
Public Health, 2223 West Loop South; and for downtown workers, the County Attorney
Conference Center, 1019 Congress St.
Bellaire has most of its usual polling places open in light of the city’s bi-annual
election for mayor and half the City Council. We are providing the traditional precinct
numbers for each, although voting is permitted anywhere — and the county no longer
lists a specific location but a selection of nearby polling places when you enter an
As of our deadline, the following locations were set:
Precinct 128 – CenterPoint Energy Community Center, second floor, 7001 Fifth St.
(above the Bellaire Family Aquatics Center in Bellaire Town Square). Handicapped
access is provided.
Precinct 182 – Harris County was not able to secure Horn Elementary School for this
election, making Faith American Lutheran Church (see Precinct 215) the closest option.
Precinct 214 – Cunningham Elementary School, 5100 Gulfton St., just outside Bellaire
city limits west of South Rice Avenue.
Precinct 215 - Faith American Lutheran Church, 4600 Bellaire Blvd.
Precinct 268 – ChristChurch Presbyterian, 5001 Bellaire Blvd. will be available for
voting, after all, after Harris County initially reporting it could not be used this year.
Another county polling place in Bellaire is at Pin Oak Middle School, 4601 Glenmont Dr.
